Westgate Brewers were founded in the early 1990's and are
based in Melbourne's inner Western Suburbs.
Meetings are held on the first Monday
of each month at The Naval Association Hall, Barrett Reserve,
Graham Street, West
Footscray. (opposite the YMCA)

The club holds an annual stout competition
on the first weekend in July at Bells Hotel Brewery which
is open to ameteur brewers throughout Victoria.

Stout Exstravaganza
Venue: Bell’s Hotel & Brewery.
Location: Corner of Moray & Coventry Streets, Sth Melb.
Time: 4th July 2004, commencing 11.30 am.
Categories: Imperial Stout, Sweet Stout, and Dry Stout.
Cost: $5.00 per entry.
This competition is open to all home brewers who make a Stout, be it Sweet,
Dry or Imperial, kit, extract or mash. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd,
3rd in each category. We will accept two entries for each category per brewer.
Entries may be left with your local participating Brew shop along with the
entry fee of $5.00, or presented on the day, prior to the start of judging
(12.30PM). For those further afield, mail entries can be sent to 12 Page Avenue,
Port Melbourne, 3207. Provided they arrive at least a week before the competition
to allow them time to recover. Any queries may be referred to Michael Bowron
